For the 2019 edition of TEDxBergamo, the chosen theme was “wonder.” Squareworld Studio created the stage set design with a display designed to enhance the experience of the audience while highlighting the speaker, the true protagonist of the event. The challenge we set for ourselves was to visually define wonder, setting up an installation on stage that would represent the theme of this edition of TEDx Bergamo. For us, this meant trying to give a tangible shape to the intangible.

“Let’s wonder” is an invitation to marvel, become curious, be amazed, and celebrate beauty and innovation by looking beyond what we personally know.
The installation consists of 14 intersecting acrylic panels, representing the visible spectrum, broken down into its 7 primary colors, metaphorically depicting this wonderful perceptual phenomenon.
Through a clever play of light, the installation will come to life, reflecting various color ranges on the stage, thus evoking a sense of wonder in the audience. This visual experience enhances the talks of the speakers, creating an immersive atmosphere that resonates with the theme of the event.

Fourteen speakers took the stage, led by economist and science communicator Luciano Canova, delivering a series of talks ranging from art to genetics, photography to sports. To complement the project, video interviews were conducted with the speakers and partners. Additionally, the installation was presented during the Porte Aperte all’Innovazione event at the Point – Polo per l’Innovazione Tecnologica in Bergamo, accompanied by the creation of a documentary video.
